The CfE development will require older pupils, from S2 upwards, to have a Portfolio. Starting it in S1 will make it more comprehensive and will allow all parties to evolve the most satisfactory format. It is a logical extension of work which has already taken place, will benefit pupils directly, will facilitate better tracking and reporting, and will progress a range of skills for both pupils and staff.
